About us

A New Name, the Same Heart.

We are so incredibly excited to welcome you to Vata Studios. As many of you know, the studios at Noarlunga and Brighton have recently entered a new chapter. While a change in ownership meant a rebrand was necessary, we want to reassure you right away: the community, the incredible teachers, and the classes you know and love aren't going anywhere.

We are dedicated to honouring the legacy that Tamme and Michael built over the last five years. Our goal is to maintain the nurturing, safe, and loving environment you've helped create, while introducing a few minor cosmetic touches to keep the space feeling fresh and inspired.

Meet Vito & Chantelle

We are a local couple, born and raised right here in the south of Adelaide, and we couldn't be prouder to grow our roots within this community.

Chantelle has been a yoga and pilates instructor for over two years, with more than a decade of experience across the fitness industry. Her journey has taken her across the globe, including a significant period living and teaching yoga and pilates in Dubai, before returning home to join the studio team in 2025. Having taught in these spaces for years, she has a deep-rooted love for our members and the unique energy of these studios.

Vito brings a different kind of craftsmanship to the team. A carpenter by trade with over 15 years of experience, he currently balances running his own carpentry business with managing the operations of a trade school, where he trains the next generation of apprentices. While he handles the behind-the-scenes build of Vata Studios, you'll likely see his handiwork in the subtle improvements we have planned for the space.

Why “Vata”?

In Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of life and the sister science to yoga, everything in the universe is composed of five elements, which combine to form three distinct energies or doshas.

Vata is the dosha associated with the elements of Air and Ether (Space). It is often translated as “Wind” and represents movement, creativity, and the breath. When Vata is in balance, we feel energetic, flexible, and vibrant. Because Vata is naturally cool and light, it loves warmth and steadiness.

One of the most effective ways to balance Vata energy is through warmth and mindful movement. This is why the name felt so perfect for us; our heated yoga and pilates practices provide the grounding heat and fluid movement needed to bring the body and mind back into harmony.
