What Happens in a Strength Class?
A Strength class is built on intervals: short blocks of focused work, then brief recovery, repeated through the class. It is the same sequence each week, so you notice yourself improve. Strength classes typically use dumbbells for movements such as rows and lunges, alongside planks and Pilates-based core work.
The effort is real. Your heart rate rises, your breath quickens and the 40°C heat adds to the work, so you will sweat. Pilates precision keeps it grounded: slow, controlled repetitions, a stable core and good alignment matter more than speed.
You set the intensity. Choose lighter weights or none, slow the pace, or rest between rounds and rejoin when your breath settles.

Strength Class FAQs
Strength is a high-intensity class, so it’s easier once you know the Pilates basics and have tried a heated class. Beginners can still join: choose light weights or none, take the rest between rounds, and tell your teacher it’s your first class. For a gentler start, Classical Pilates builds the foundations.
Both use weights and Pilates precision. Sculpt Pilates is slower and low-impact, with light weights, focused on tone, posture and definition, in a Warm (32°C) or Hot (40°C) room. Strength is higher intensity, built on athletic intervals with a PT-style twist, runs at 40°C, and focuses on muscle and stamina.
Strength runs at 40°C, in a room warmed by infrared panels. With intervals on top, the heat makes this a demanding class, so drink water through the day, set up near the door if you’d like cooler air, and rest whenever you need to.
A mat, a large towel and a full water bottle. Wear close-fitting clothes you’re happy to sweat in, and arrive ten minutes early so your teacher can show you around and check in about any injuries before class begins. Weights are provided.
